On The Edge Activities has staff who are fully qualified to lead activities. We are licenced by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service and fully insured. We believe in using qualified staff, that have more than the required qualifications and experience to lead our customers. An activity with us is so much more than an activity, its a whole experience.

We apply the requirements of the AALS licence to customers of all ages.  

Simon Land is the owner of On The Edge Activities, which he started  in October 2007. Simon has been a manager for over 18 years both in the TA and Local Government Emergency Services. Simon has an honours degree in Leadership and Management and a wealth of experience in leading outdoor adventure activities. He has been teaching junior management, leadership, first aid and navigation for over 20 years

Simon's ethos for the business is to bring people of all ages and abilities into the beautiful and fragile North Pennines and allow them to have a unique learning experience, without damaging the ecology of the Dales. On The Edge Activities works in partnership with the local economy to bring    

 benefit to all.
